ascii.cafe is provided by Celestials FZC LLC, a Dubai-based company. These terms cover your use of the website, editor, exports and paid features. Contact support@ascii.cafe with questions.
1. Using the service
Use ascii.cafe only where you can legally agree to these terms, or with a parent or guardian who agrees on your behalf. You must have permission to use the images, videos, camera feeds, screen content and other material you process. Do not infringe others' rights, submit unlawful content, disrupt the service, bypass paid access or misuse license keys.
2. Your content and exports
You keep the rights you hold in your source material and creations. Using the editor does not transfer ownership to us or give you rights in someone else's material. You may use your exports, including commercially, subject to those underlying rights and your plan's restrictions.
Normal editing and exporting happen in your browser. Save anything you want to keep. Browser storage can be cleared, and we do not provide a backup of your local work.
3. Free and paid plans
The plan description and checkout show the features, price, currency, taxes and billing interval applicable to your purchase. Free animated exports carry a watermark; removing it requires an appropriate paid license. Clean free still exports do not require a paid license.
Lifetime Pro (V1) is a one-time purchase covering V1 Pro features and V1 updates without renewal. Major version upgrades are excluded. It is not a promise that the service will operate forever. Features carrying per-use costs are excluded from that purchase unless expressly included when sold.
Pro Monthly renews at the interval shown at checkout until cancelled. Cancel through the subscription management link provided with your purchase, or contact support. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues through the paid period unless a refund or applicable law requires otherwise.
A Day Pass provides 24 hours of Pro access according to the license expiry issued with your purchase. It does not renew. Check the purchase information for the start and expiry time; do not assume first use starts a fresh 24 hours.
License keys are for the purchaser and subject to the activation limits shown with the product. Do not share, resell or publish your key. A Dev purchase permits commercial embedding in one website or project per license, under the license supplied with the download. Pro export access alone does not grant an engine embedding license. It does not permit redistributing the engine as a competing tool or sharing the downloadable package as a standalone product.
4. Payments and refunds
Polar acts as merchant of record and reseller for paid purchases. Its buyer terms also apply to checkout and payment. Refund requests can be sent to support@ascii.cafe with your order reference. Refunds are handled through Polar under the applicable purchase terms and consumer law. These terms do not remove statutory cancellation, refund or other consumer rights.
5. Public sharing and gallery submissions
If you publicly share a free export, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to feature that export in the ascii.cafe gallery and marketing. This does not give us access to private files or permission to collect your local exports automatically. You must have the rights needed to grant this permission.
If you choose to submit a creation through the site, the submission form asks separately for permission to upload, review and feature it with your chosen credit. Submitted creations and credits may become public if approved. Do not submit confidential content or personal information you do not want published. We may decline or remove submissions. Contact support to request removal from surfaces we control; copies already shared by others may remain.
6. Availability and responsibility
Features and export performance depend on your browser, device and source media. We may maintain, change or discontinue features, while respecting purchased entitlements and applicable consumer rights. We may restrict access for misuse or a material breach of these terms.
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as available without a guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not responsible for losses caused by material you lack rights to use, lost local files or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, or limits mandatory consumer protections.
7. Privacy, changes and disputes
Our privacy policy explains how information is handled. Optional measurement consent is separate from these terms. We will date updates here and provide appropriate notice of material changes affecting existing customers. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights attached to an earlier purchase.
The laws of the United Arab Emirates apply, subject to any mandatory protections and rights to bring claims in your home jurisdiction. Please contact support first so we can try to resolve a concern.
